We knocked off around 3 o'clock Friday arvo with the cruiser loaded and dogs ready to go! After a 3 1/2 hour drive and plenty of yarns, we made it to our mate’s place where we spoke about the next morning’s plans and caught up on a few stories before my mate headed on down to the camp spot and me. We went to the pub for a feed and watched the footy! After filling our guts, we laid up for the night as we were looking forward to the day ahead! We woke up nice and early about 3.45am and arrived at our mate’s joint to see his dogs plated up and he was waiting for us! We threw his dogs on the back and headed out of town! We went out to check a normal spot as the sun came up, but there was nothing around, no sign at all! We drove around a few water holes, and creek beds were we normally get the odd boar floating around, but still nothing! We started to think this might be a dry trip! As we had a look around a water hole, we blew a tyre on a stump hidden in the long grass, just making matters worse!

We changed the tyre and heading back into town to grab a feed. We smashed a feed and then drove back out to a creek where the pigs normally hold up, we happened to run into a small boar wallowed up as we were walking the dogs. The dogs took care of him, no worries! We then headed back to camp as it started to heat up late in the arvo! We loaded up the cruiser and dogs, said see ya to our mate and headed back towards home to check a few spots the next morning. We arrived late night at about 9 pm, rolled the swags out, looking forward to the next morning! We woke up about 4.30am and plated the dogs up, waited for the sun to rise a little and headed off! We went through a few creeks and around a few water holes before spotting a big boar in some tall grass 200m ahead, we raced up there, and the dogs flew off the Ute after the big fella! The boar didn't make it far before the dogs pulled him up, and as we arrived, we discovered he had an awesome set off hooks on him. We took a few photos and headed back off!

We drove about 3 km's before seeing the dogs having a real good sniff as we came into a creek, we both looked at each other and said there could be a pig around here, we turned the corner to find a small boar leaving the water and the dogs not far behind him! We dispatched the small boar and kept moving. Drove past a few more dry creeks but nothing was around, thinking we might have scared them off from the last pig. We thought we better check a spot before we left for home. When we arrived at the spot my mate spotted a ripper boar with his head in the water playing around; we walked the dogs in a few hundred meters before they picked up his scent and took off towards him in the water. He only noticed the dog’s last minute and took off flat out, out of the water with dog’s right up his arse! They eventually pulled the big fella up on the flat where the big fella was going crazy, and we got in there as quick as we could to find he had a good set of hooks aswell! We took care of the big boar and took a few photos. Then we loaded the dogs back up for the trip back home! We both agreed it turned out to be a ripper weekend!
